Malaysian; and the other side

When I was reading the online news last night, as I’m waiting for the few heavy file to be downloaded, I found this music video that make my ear suddenly catching up the sound and rhythm.

This is the link.

A mixed group of Malaysian included filmmakers, dancers, singers, producers, musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, designers, footballers, activists, celebrities, students and a ‘florist’ gathered and came out with an attractive music video and website, even a package of banner to promote their ideas; Malaysian, or in the other word, anti-racism, just live in harmony, love the country.

Do watch the trailer of the music video in here.

Honestly, I love the music, and the storyboard, that for me, embedded important massages and, or even critiques behind the issues that been raised. ‘Reading’ this music video, remind me to Dr Abu Hassan Hasbullah and his obsessiveness in movies, dramas, and ‘reading’ Malaysia politics.

The same type of music video like this always been using in the international level; especially in Obama political campaign, see here, and here.

Holding “We the Malaysian–lah” banner, those artistes significantly show the idea of patriotic Malaysian and forget about ‘what race are you?’; although they’re using Manglish.

Loving Malaysia or be a true-Malaysian might can be as simple as this. But for a complicated person like me; this music video just a tiny part in douse the fire that threatens to burn the racial tension in Malaysia, if any.

Congratulation to Pete Teo and his ‘free-of-charge’ team for the creative artwork. But there are few critical topics that still unfolding on our ‘Ecopocial’ problems.

The Government rather love to woo the rakyat about their effectiveness planning in economics advancement and its effectiveness when ‘created’ the fabulously ‘Najib-nomic’, instead of inventigate the PKFZ’s fiasco case, the Bernas case, and any other financial issues.

“Haha.. I don’t know who’s doing the ’stupid’ ideas like that,” said Dr Mario Artuiz, our lecturer in University of Malaya referred to the term.

Najibnomics, for me, it’s obviously means nothing.

Can someone critically give a short account on Najibnomic, maybe can briefly compare with Obamanomics, or Reaganomics?

Criticizing the fashionable term, Dr Azly Rahman also cynically marching with many others -nomics and suffix in his articles here. Aside writing about the sloganic campaign in Malaysia, and the world, he also wrote about the capitalism and the main ‘need-to-do’ instead of being playful with the politics of names.

Fahmi Salleh got various ‘nicknames’ in ‘Sekadar Berkongsi’.

p/s-The term ‘Ecopocial’ always been using by Dr. Abu Hassan “Hayastani” Hasbullah, etymologically came from the tri-mixed words of Politics-Economics-Social.

-I got technical problems to embed the Youtube and videos. I failed to do it as usual; someone got ideas?

  • another politics of names in Najib’s recent budget.. eveythg goes to rakyat? – ‘kemakmuran rakyat, makes any sense if there’s just rethorical gambit?

    -mess around-

  • najib bleh la nak letakkan najibnomic ke.,ape ke, tp dia x plak tunjukkan jalan kuar nak selesaikn kmelesetan eko. M’sia msih bergantung kepada eko yg bersifat ‘comodity-based sources’, dan x kembangkan pun industri perkdmatan kita, or kita nye K-Economics. simplenye la, najib x bjaya lagi sebenarnya dlm bdget 2010.. – komen?
